The Mouse and the Dragon

The dragon guarded his cave.  Bob, the flying, talking mouse watched.  This was a tiny dragon.   He was green, and little sparks flew out of his nose.  Bob knew that the dragon guarded a hoard of platinum and alien technology.  Bob wanted that treasure really badly.

The dragon had yellow eyes, duck wings, and spiky claws.  The dragon didn’t look that scary to Bob.  After all, Bob was the one who had the magic wand.  And the mouse had touched the dragon before and the dragon was soft as a pillow with claws that felt like jello trying to be sharp.

Bob lifted his nose and inhaled deeply.  The dragon smelled fabulous – just like brownies straight from the oven.  That smell was his weakness.  He couldn’t imagine going away from this spot and losing that aroma.

Strangely, every time the dragon breathed, he screamed.  Even stranger, it appeared that he breathed from his ears.

Since Bob’s arrival, there had been another noise, but it was coming from the cave.  There was the sound of elephants trumpeting and loud stomping as if they were a large herd.

Bob, took another chunk of Swiss cheese and bit into it.  He just loved this particular Swiss cheese because it tasted just like blue cheese.  It was his favorite food besides yummy brownies.

Bob decided it was time for business!  He leapt at the dragon, and slashed him with his wand.  But amazingly, every time he hurt the dragon, the injury healed immediately.

He had to get that alien technology.  He needed it for his plot to conquer the world – all the humans and everything else, too.  He had dinosaur minions, but this technology would give him complete power over even them.

The weather wasn’t helping his cause.  One minute it was sunny, the next it was pouring rain with hail flying down.  When it turned sunny, Bob attacked again, but this time he turned his wand into a magical sword.  Suddenly, the dragon grew 1000 times his size and he had three heads and he breathed fire!  Bob ran for his life!  This dragon was the scariest thing he’d ever seen.

All of a sudden, Bob screeched to a halt.  “Wait a second,” he thought.  He realized he had a magic wand.  He waved it, said the magic words and grew two million times his size.  He turned his wand into a light saber, and he also used his magic to grow armored plates on his arms.  Now he was ready for the dragon.

As they crashed into each other in an epic battle, it sounded like thunder!  Bob realized that the dragon had grown missiles on his wings, and now they were exploding, making a huge bang. They felt like mosquito bites – very irritating.  They kept growing back on the dragon and exploding over and over again.  The dragon blew a huge ball of fire at Bob and Bob screamed in pain because his face and tail were badly burned.  The dragon seemed to think that the fight was over, and he had won.  He turned his back on Bob.  Bob took his chance and barreled past the dragon, catching him off-guard.  Bob waved his light saber and swooshed himself down to the tiniest size he possibly could be.  He ran into the cave knowing that it would be hard for the dragon to see him.

The first thing he saw was a herd of gigantic elephants that looked a lot like dragons.  They breathed fire and had spikes all over.  Bob scurried through the elephants’ feet and quickly got past them.  They didn’t even see him.

He kept running to the end of the cave and saw the huge heap of platinum and alien technology.  The alien technology was covered with containers that held blobs of green.  Suddenly, Bob realized that his magic wand had shut off.  The diamond power source must have been dissipated.  Oh no!  He needed more diamonds as soon as possible.  He decided to search the cave–it had so many valuable objects.  He searched all over and finally went back through the elephants’ legs.  At the front of the cave he found diamonds!  Quickly, he powered back up his magic wand.

He heard a new voice outside the cave.  It was scolding the dragon for not keeping the technology safe.  He scurried back to the technology and changed his wand back into a light saber.  The elephants saw the bright light and were frightened away.  Bob used his wand to create an invisible bag.  He quickly loaded all of the alien technology inside and ran for the cave entrance.

The dragon was peeking inside, and Bob realized that the dragon saw him from the corner of his eyes.  Bob waved his magic wand, and turned himself invisible.  He crossed over to the other side of the entrance and hid from the dragon. The dragon was still watching the other spot.

Invisible Bob took to the air and flew to his evil, villain complex.  He created a laser weapon and tried to destroy the Empire State Building, but he vaporized himself instead!

The End.
