The dragon guarded his cave. Amber, the Pegasus, watched the dragon. Amber did not know what the dragon was guarding, but it had to be something either magical or dangerous because fireworks and smoke came from the cave.
She knew the dragon’s name was Luke. Luke was huge and scaly. Amber thought the dragon’s color was a disgusting green. The dragon had a spiky, neon mane. All of a sudden, the pink, neon mane turned black. Amber wondered if the dragon didn’t like his pink mane. Amber was scared of Luke’s monstrous teeth. They were as big as Amber’s body. If Luke bit her, he would bite her in half.
Amber thought the scales would feel like a lizard. The dragon smelled wonderful just like bubblegum. That was one of her favorite smells. However, it made her sleepy. She could barely keep her eyes open. Fortunately, the dragon was making a noise like a rocket taking off. The ginormous sound kept her awake. From within the cave came a very loud rattle and shake. It was as if the earth shook. What could be making such a noise?
Just then, a titanium-armored knight charged the dragon. The dragon shot a bolt of white-hot flame at the knight. It charred him and made him retreat into the forest. Amber had no idea why the knight charged the dragon. She had to know. She flapped her great wings and rose to fly to him.
As Amber flew over the cave, she heard the dragon mutter, “I cannot let the knight steal my magic chest. If he does, he will have all the power in the world!”
Just as Amber made it to the forest, the dragon took to the skies and flew in the other direction. The dragon’s wings were magnificent: beautiful, flame-colored wings.
Amber stayed focused and said to the knight, “Why did you attack the dragon?”
The knight replied , “Because I wanted to see what he was protecting.”
Amber said, “The dragon has left the cave. Let’s go find out.”
They raced back to the cave, but at the same time, the dragon returned. They had to make a new plan.
Amber said, “I will distract him.”
Using her super speed, she flew to Nob Hill, bought rocks that looked like meat, flew back, offered them to Luke who immediately bit in. All of the dragon’s ferocious teeth fell out!
No longer afraid, Amber flew for the cave to get the chest. Through the smoke Amber made it to the chest and opened it. There was a button. She wasn’t sure what it did, but based on the dragon’s comments, she knew it could have great power.
Through the opening of the cave, Amber glimpsed ten robots who have just arrived. They shot laser beams at the dragon and suddenly the dragon looked incredibly powerful.
The dragon yelled, “Now I have the power to destroy the universe!”
Amber fell backward and pressed down on the button. The dragon bowed down and cried, “All Hail the Pegasus!”
Amber told the robots to go get the knight. They felt compelled to do her bidding.
They asked the dragon, “What happened with the button?”
The dragon croaked, “Don’t obey her. She is evil.”
They went after Amber and the button and she realized that, as robots, they could resist the button’s control. She decided that she had only one choice. She attacked the robots…
