Max, the Dog, and the Alien

The alien stood by his spaceship. Max, the dog watched. He knew that this alien was guarding the ship, but even more important, the emperor inside. The emperor had come to Earth to eat his favorite delicacy, gummy worms, but that was Max’s favorite treat, and he was determined to eat them all.

The alien guard had to be at least twenty feet tall. His head was a big rectangle. He wore an oversized coat. He had hot pink skin and big, bulging, neon purple eyes. The spaceship looked like a gigantic jellyfish, only the whole ship was engulfed in green flames. Max thought it was supposed to be on fire all the time.

Max thought the alien would feel like Jell-O, if he laid his paw on him. However, despite the flames, Max thought the spaceship in all those flames would feel very, very cold. The alien smelled disgusting, like rotten milk. He knew that the alien’s odor was too subtle for those nose-challenged humans but to him it was quite overpowering. The alien was sucking on a lollypop. Max liked lollypops, they were sweet and yummy, but they were not even close to being as fantastically yummy and gooey as gummy worms.

For some reason, the alien neared Max. Max barred his teeth and growled.

The alien jumped and landed on him. “What a lovely pillow. Standing around all the time really sucks.”

Max was irritated. He needed to get rid of this alien. He bit him in the butt and found to his surprise that the alien tasted just like gummy worms. The alien’s Jell-O-esque body oozed all over him. He began to chew and chew. The alien finally jumped off. He made a really, really high-pitched screech like a dog whistle.

The alien emperor burst out of the jellyfish ship. “What is all this ruckus?” the emperor screamed. “Forget it, I don’t care, I just want my gummy worms.”

The emperor jumped on his hover vehicle and yelled, “I’m going to the nearest Baskin Robins.”

After a long wait, Max saw the hover vehicle return. The emperor jumped out with a huge Ziploc bag of gummy worms. The emperor and his guard disappeared into the ship. Max had to make a quick decision. He snuck aboard. He wanted those gummies but even more important, he wanted to live in a world where all the creatures tasted like gummy worms. He found a cardboard box to hide in and waited for what seemed liked hours. Max was starving.

Finally, he crawled out of the box and looked around. The area was alien free. Using his awesome sniffer he hunted down the gummy worms. He found them in what looked to be a control room. The emperor stood in front of the bag. He ran at the emperor and nosed him aside.

With one big gulp, he ate the entire bag of gummy worms, including the Ziploc. The emperor looked at him with horror. He grabbed a sharp needle and stuck it into Max. Max felt woozy. He had been drugged. He didn’t lose consciousness, but he couldn’t seem to move.

Two strange aliens approached with knives.

“Cut the gummy worms out,” the emperor shouted.

When he felt the knife, he awoke and scampered out. With his last bit of strength, he bit the aliens. Boy did they taste good, but he couldn’t think about that now. His life was at stake. Both aliens fell to the ground. Max ran. He ran back to the box and hid.

Max smelled the emperor. He was close. He smelled like baby powder. He was also yelling at the top of his lungs. Max knew it was bad. Then someone picked up his box. It was the emperor. He stared down at Max with a ferocious glare.

Max readied himself and flung himself at the emperor. He bit him hard on the nose. Max ran. He made it back to the control room.

When he looked out the window, he saw, to his horror, that another spaceship was inches away. Suddenly, the spaceships crashed. There was a very loud bouncy sound, and Max flew across the room. He bounced off one wall and into another, and ricocheted all over. Finally he landed on his stomach. Man did he feel sick.

The emperor raced past him. The two ships were stuck together. The emperor ran onto the other ship. Suddenly, ten orange dogs ran onto their ship. The orange dogs peed on Max and Max peed on them. Then, they decided to be friends.

The dogs took control and started flying back to Earth, leaving the emperor behind on the dog ship. They realized that they needed fuel. They stopped at a small star to refill. But there were jellyfish bandits there. The dogs had to fight.

The bandits approached with wooden swords. The dogs grabbed poles with their mouths and crept close.

Max thought to himself, they look more advanced, but he knew the dogs could do this, they could win this thing.

The “Cliffhanger” End.
