The Dragon guarded her cave. The dragon hunter watched. His name was Brian. He wondered what the dragon guarded.
The dragon was huge, at least 50 feet tall and she was a very dark green, as dark as a forest. The dragon was shooting huge flames at a far away city, destroying it. Her wings were spread wide and were black. She had a very big tail and it looked super rough, like sand paper. She had the strange odor of berries covered in dirt. He didn’t really like that smell. It was sort of rotten.
As she spewed fire it sounded like a bear growling. Brian didn’t think she had seen him yet. From within the cave, Brian heard crackling. Now he knew that there were dragon eggs in the cave. He had heard that crackling before. It came right before the eggs hatched.
The dragon hunter choked on something flaming hot on his tongue. It tasted like smoke and ghost chili pepper. He saw some gassy smoke in the air and realized he was tasting that. He looked up and saw a very evil looking male dragon perched on top of the cave. It looked as if he had just tried to flame Brian.
Wow, these dragons meant business. Brian had only come to this cave because he saw the dragon and the cave in the distance and he thought he would like to know what she guarded. Now, he realized that she and her partner were quite dangerous. Despite being a seasoned dragon hunter, he felt fear. What if they went after him?
Suddenly, the evil looking male dragon took to the skies, flying toward the distant city. Oh no, thought Brian. That dragon was probably going to steal some of the people in that city. Brian did feel bad for them but there wasn’t a lot he could do. However, he did think there might be treasure in the cave and he might be able to sneak past the dragon and steal it for his own use.
He decided to army-crawl to the entrance in the hope that he would go unnoticed. He heard loud flapping noises. He looked over his shoulder and up and saw the King of all Dragons! In that moment, he realized that the evil-looking dragon and the King were one and the same, only now, the dragon had grown five times larger. He knew the dragon king had the power to change his size.
In terror, he leapt up and ran inside the cave. It was pitch dark. He pulled out his headlamp and stuck it on his forehead. When it was on, he saw a treasure trove beyond imagining, piles and piles of gold.
Then nine little baby dragons ran at him like ninjas and punched out yelling, “Hoya-ya!” There was still one dragon trying to hatch. The baby dragons started climbing up the dragon hunter, using their claws to work up to his head. Brian began to scream in a very high pitch. He was scared and cold. He shook with fear. He threw off the little dragons and ran outside.
The big king dragon landed in front of him, looking mad. Without thought, Brian moved into action. As the king dragon blasted fire toward him, Brian ran and slid under the fire and through the dragon’s legs. He almost ran away, but then he thought of all the people who might be dying in the city. He snuck back around to the cave using his best camouflage techniques to stay hidden from the king.
Once inside, he grabbed two of the baby dragons. Then he ran back outside.
He yelled, “Female dragon, stop destroying that city! I have two of your babies and I will keep them until you stop!”
That immediately stopped her. He had counted on the great love that dragons have for their babies and it worked!
“Thank you,” he yelled. Then placed the children on the ground. He turned to walk away. Then he heard that flapping sound of the king dragon following him. Oops, he had sort of forgotten about the king. He quickly pulled out his teleporting device that would bring him home. With a jaunty wave at the dragons, he vanished and reappeared in his castle.
