Venomous Victor and the Dragon

The dragon guarded his cave. Victor, the venomous snake, watched. Victor wondered what was in the cave.

This was a pretty small dragon in Victor’s humble opinion. Victor was at least 5 feet long, but this dragon couldn’t be much longer than three feet. Unlike Victor who was bright yellow, this tiny dragon was a light orange. The dragon had crazy eyes, neon purple and the left looked left and the right looked right. The dragon had fluffy scales, all poofy and soft. He had little, inky-dinky, blue wings. Victor thought this dragon would be easy to beat in a fight. He wasn’t scared one bit.

He stuck out his forked tongue and smelled. The dragon stank of flowers. Yuck. He thought it was a disgusting, too-strong smell. The dragon was doing something with his throat to make a steady drum beat. The noise really irritated him. Victor was digesting a huge pile of garbage that he had eaten right before he came upon this dragon. It was delicious. It tasted like chocolate – his favorite, so sweet and yummy.

Just then the dragon rose up in the air with his itty-bitty wings and began to circle the cave. After circling the cave four times, the dragon flew into the cave. Victor followed the dragon into the cave. The cave appeared to be magical because it was lit with rainbows. Victor could see very well. His eyes were drawn to all the beautiful colors. After a few seconds he managed to refocus on the actual cave. He saw the dragon in the middle of the cave. Beyond the dragon there was a very large panda bear and three baby panda cubs.

Victor wasn’t impressed by the dragon, but those pandas looked pretty scary, even the cubs. But Victor refused to be scared of anything. He decided to attack. He slithered to the big bear and started to climb her. He would bite her and poison her. Then they all would be scared of him!

All of a sudden he felt heat near his back. He raised his head and saw the dragon breathing fire at him. He could tell it was just a warning because the dragon didn’t actually hit him with the flame.

“Leave that panda alone,” yelled the dragon.

Victor immediately dropped the panda and started to slither toward the dragon.

“I won’t stop going after the panda. If you get in my way, I will poison you too!” he hissed.

The dragon leapt into the air and flew to the panda. He stood in front of the bear and her cubs. The dragon then attached himself to the panda and her cubs. It looked like magic to Victor. When the dragon rose in the air, the pandas came with him. The dragon flew with the pandas out of the cave.

Victor quickly followed, but he couldn’t slither as fast as the dragon flew. He lost sight of them. Darn! At least now he had the rainbow cave all to himself. He went inside and coiled up and watched the colors. Suddenly he heard that drumming noise that the dragon did with his throat.

He swung around. The dragon was here by himself. He breathed fire at the rainbows over and over until they all winked out. The cave went very dark. With his heat vision, Victor still could make out the dragon.

Then a unicorn appeared. The unicorn seemed to have a rainbow horn, and it shot lasers that caused explosions and fire throughout the cave. All of a sudden there was another poof and a coyote appeared. Oh Oh! It had to be a magical coyote and coyotes were natural predators of snakes.

Victor didn’t like this one bit. What should he do now?
