The dragon guarded his cave. Drag, the giraffe, watched. Drag wondered what the dragon guarded.
The dragon was as tall as he was – about ten feet. The dragon was bright red, and he was a lot fatter than Drag. He had long wings; each was ten feet long. Instead of fur, the dragon had scales. The dragon had horns, but his were much sharper. The dragon also had spikes that went down his back that looked as sharp as knives. Drag thought the dragon’s scales would be hard as rocks.
Strangely, the dragon smelled exactly like Drag did. They both smelled like Gucci perfume – like honey and flowers. It was Drag’s favorite perfume. They must shop at the same Internet store.
Just then, the dragon let out a powerful roar that sounded just like a chainsaw. In between roars, the dragon sang in a very high-pitched voice. And in between roars and singing, the dragon also munched on a chainsaw. Hmmm. Drag thought that that might taste good – like metal.
Drag pretended he was leaving, but as soon as he couldn’t be seen by the dragon, he snuck around to the back of the cave. There was another entrance to the cave. He snuck inside, ducking his head down so he could squeeze in. It was very dark. After a few seconds his eyes adjusted and he saw a bathroom. He passed the bathroom and went further into the cave.
In the distance, he saw some sparkly stuff and decided to investigate. When he got closer, he saw millions of jewels in every possible color. He wanted those jewels! In front of him, was an intricate maze. He had a feeling that the best jewels were in the center of the maze so he started to attempt it. After a few dead ends, he found the center.
The jewels here were huge, more sparkly, shinier, and harder than the others. Using his bright blue tongue, Drag picked up the jewels one by one and dropped them into his pouch.
Suddenly, the dragon hovered above him and spit something at him. Uh oh! It was some sort of venom. Drag felt very, very sleepy.
Suddenly Drag woke up and saw that he was captured in some sort of underground dungeon. There were metal bars blocking his escape and the dragon sat beyond the cage.
Drag checked his pouch, but it was empty. Uh oh – the jewels were gone!
The dragon saw that he was awake. He yelled, “Those were my mother’s jewels!” He started to roar again, sounding just like a chainsaw.
All of the sudden another dragon arrives. She called out, “What are you doing with my friend?” Drag was so happy. “Georgia!” he yelled. She must be the dragon’s mother.
The dragon started to cry, “I’m sorry mama!”
The End.
