The dragon guarded his cave. The giant pickle watched; she only had one eye. She knew that the dragon guarded her brother, and she was pretty sure that he planned to eat him.
The dragon was about the same size as her. He was a bright black color. He had shiny, see-through black wings and three horns like a triceratops. He shot fire from his eyes.
He had scales all over. They looked very rough. There was a long line of spikes going down his tail and they looked very sharp.
The dragon smelled all sweaty as if he were a warrior in battle. She thought he smelled disgusting. He was snorting loudly like a pig. She didn’t think he was snorting at her. She thought it was just his typical behavior. The fire coming from the dragon’s eyes made a sort of roar like a lion.
The giant pickle heard her brother yell from within the cave.
“Help! Help!” he cried.
She felt so sorry for him. She was even more determined to save him. She nervously bit her fingernails as she readied herself to save her brother. They tasted like lemon. They were so sweet!
The dragon seemed disoriented by his snorting. She decided to attempt to fly past him and into his cave. She hoped he would not hear the whooshing of her flight because it would be drowned out by his big monster snorts. She flew.
Suddenly, she felt heat on her backside. The dragon was flaming her. It hurt! She kept flying. She made it to the cave but the terrible flame caused her eye to pop out, blinding her. Fortunately, she had the wonderful ability to regenerate her body parts. Within seconds, she had regrown a new eyeball! Yay!
It was very dark in the cave. How was she going to find her brother? She called out, “Marco!” and from deep within the cave she heard her brother yell, “Polo!” She kept calling Marco until she found her brother. They hugged and she untied him. They ran to the back entrance of the cave.
When they made it outside, they were shocked to find a snowy forest. There were winter dragons all over. The dragons started to attack! Quickly, they ran back into the cave.
“Use your Earth powers,” she called to her brother.
He punched the ground and the cave entrance crumbled, protecting them from the terrible winter dragons!
“Follow me,” she cried. She pointed to a hole in the cave’s ceiling. They flew through the hole. They couldn’t believe where it took them. This hole must have been a portal. They had flown into Dinosaur Land!
Whoa! She was totally freaked out. She could tell that her brother was too. How were they going to survive?
The “Cliffhanger” End.
