The dragon guarded his cave. Striker, the alien, watched. She had no idea what or who the dragon guarded.
The dragon was huge – at least ten Strikers tall, and breathed fire. The dragon had two scary horns on the top of his head, and a horn on each of his feet. Unlike Striker who was neon green, the dragon was bright turquoise; even his wings were bright turquoise. He had red eyes.
He had very sharp spikes running from the back of his neck to the tip of his tail. His scales were smooth and looked as if they would feel like metal. The wings looked very rough.
The dragon smelled disgusting. He wreaked of a sour potent smell that reminded Striker of some very strong mushrooms that grew on her home planet.
Squeaky noises were coming from within the cave. They reminded Striker of mice. She wondered what could be making that squeak.
Striker stepped forward for a closer look. She stepped on a twig which snapped with a crunch.
The dragon glared in her direction and made a low growl, but she had managed to duck behind a bush before he saw her.
Suddenly, a human walked by. He was eating a chicken leg. Striker felt confused. On the one hand, she loved the strong, bitter taste of chicken. However, chickens were endangered on her planet and it bothered her that someone had chosen to eat one here. The dragon looked very interested in the chicken leg as if he might want to eat it.
The dragon lumbered toward the human, obviously intent on stealing the chicken leg. The human froze for at least ten seconds. He then started to scream. He turned and ran. The dragon followed.
Striker realized this was the perfect opportunity to sneak into the cave and see what was inside. She crept into the cave and was nearly blinded because it was so bright inside. She closed her eye, then opened it slowly. It was adjusted to the bright cave.
She heard a stomp behind her and swiveled to see what was there. It was the dragon. Striker kept her cool. She had seen many strange and scary things in her life. She wasn’t going to let a dragon faze her. However, she was a little worried.
She looked back into the cave, and she saw something surprising. Inside the cave was her mother. The dragon was guarding her mother? There was also someone else in the cave. Striker didn’t pay a lot of attention to that person but he seemed very alien to her. He was a lot bigger and hulkier, and he was shiny gold.
The dragon said, “Hello, my name is Grud. Are you a relative of Greek?”
“Yes!” said Striker. “She is my mother, why are you keeping her here?”
“I am protecting Greek and Thunder from a huge, flying squirrel with really sharp teeth who desperately wants to eat them because, while he’s tasted all the other creatures in the forest, he’s never tasted alien before.”
Suddenly, a dragon lady poked her head into the cave. She asked Grud, “Would you like to marry me?”
In a blink, a humongous squirrel poked his head into the cave. He said in a very loud voice, “I’m not going to eat you. I found another alien and ate him from lunch.”
With another crash and a lot of dirt, another ginormous flying squirrel exploded through the roof. “Fred,” she called to the boy squirrel, “Come on, let’s go to the forest to play.”
“Sure, Lillen. Bye everyone!”
The two flying squirrels flew out of the cave, but within a few minutes they returned. “We’ve changed our minds. We really want to eat the dragon lady.”
Everyone, the aliens and the dragons, fought together to kick the squirrels out.
At the end, they all yelled, “Never come back!” And they all lived happily ever after!!
The End.
