The dragon guarded his cave. Steve watched. This was Enderdragon. He wondered what Enderdragon guarded.
The dragon was tiny – only 4 inches tall. From this distance, Steve couldn’t see Enderdragon’s color, but he knew he was black with purple dots down his spine. Enderdragon was one of Steve’s closest buddies. He had tattooed “Stephano” on Enderdragon’s arm as a sign of their friendship.
Right now, Enderdragon was very angry at him. By accident, he had sprayed acid on one of Enderdragon’s eggs and Enderdragon had not yet forgiven him. Steve was also angry at Enderdragon because he had burned down his house after Steve’s big accident.
Steve knew that Enderdragon had scales covering his back and a long tail. Those scales were rough and scaly. Enderdragon stank of smoky rotten eggs. Steve couldn’t believe that at one time he actually thought Enderdragon smelled good. ICK!
The dragon wasn’t moving at all. He was completely silent. In fact, there was no noise coming from anywhere nearby – no birds singing, no rustling in any bushes, no scurrying little creatures. The world was infinitely quiet.
Suddenly, there was the small rushing, cracking sound of rocks tumbling inside the cave. All of a sudden, a monkey hopped into view eating an ice cream cone. That reminded Steve that it was lunchtime. He searched through his backpack and found his lunch bag and his mini freezer. He decided to eat his desert first.
He opened the freezer, “Oh my gosh!! Where is my ice cream cone?!” Had someone stolen it? Steve realized that the monkey had stolen it and now was eating it in front of him!
Steve pulled out a flame thrower and brandished it at the monkey. “Give me back my desert!!!!!”
Enderdragon took to the air and flew straight for Steve. He was blowing flames!
“What the heck?!” Steve thought Enderdragon must be trying to melt his ice cream that the monkey had stolen.
Suddenly, Enderdragon stopped midflight, gasping. The dragon had realized that Steve was there! Enderdragon dropped to the ground and turned tail and walked back toward the cave. He said nothing to Steve. He obviously was still mad.
Steve wanted to fix things between them. But that would never happen until he had fixed the egg. It had taken him a long time to find a way to fix the egg, but he had eventually found the super-rare anti-poison potion. All he had to do was dip a little bit on the egg and it would be completely healed. The baby dragon inside would be fine.
Steve had a plan. He used another liquid potion on his hand. It made him invisible. He snuck into the cave. It was very dark, but he could see well now that he was invisible. He went over to the eggs. There were five. Oh no! Which was the damaged egg? He had to use the potion on the right one.
He grabbed his third potion and put a drop on each egg. One of the eggs glowed! That was the egg that had the acid poured on it. He poured the anti-poison on the egg. There was a funny sound. It made him run away. The egg exploded! Oh no!
He heard Enderdragon bellow! “Steve,” he yelled. Steve realized that his invisibility had worn off. Oh no! Steve and the dragon looked to the explosion. A perfect baby dragon had arisen from the ashes. It was alive! The baby was alive!
Enderdragon was joyous and so was Steve. They apologized to each other and became best friends once more.
The End.
