Olivia the Alien and the Dragon

The dragon guarded his cave. Olivia, the alien, watched. Olivia wondered what that dragon guarded.

It had seen him before, but it didn’t know a lot about him. The dragon was so big that Olivia couldn’t see where he ended. It wondered if he was as a big as a country, maybe as big as the USA. He was read and green, with the colors swirling together. His wings were big, but not enormous, maybe big enough for flight. It was hard to imagine such a huge creature flying.

Olivia thought it would be super cool to fly. It wondered what touching the dragon would feel like. Olivia had three arms and its hands were suction cups. It thought pressing its suction cups to the dragon would be super scaly.

The dragon smelled like roses. It was a sour, rotten garbage smell that overwhelmed Olivia. Its four noses wrinkled in disgust.

The dragon sneezed. It sounded like a rock and roll band and booger hail flew everywhere. Olivia was drenched in the hail.

Oh! That was pretty cool.

The boogers smelled delicious, probably tasted delicious too, like a double-double cheeseburger from In N Out Burger!

Suddenly, the dragon coughed. A mist formed over the entire land. Olivia felt a strong wind pick up. In fact, it was so strong that it lifted Olivia and flung the alien into the cave. The cave was dark.

Uh-oh, Olivia thought. The last time Olivia met this dragon, he lasered Olivia with his eyes, causing Olivia not to be able to see in the dark. Olivia was now blind.

In the distance, it felt as if there was light. Olivia walked toward the light. As the light grew, Olivia was able to see, and what it saw, was extraordinary. Such treasure to behold! A huge diamond and tons of rubies and heaps of gold!

A loud stomp alerted Olivia that it was no longer alone. It whirled around.

The dragon was in the cave. The dragon now was the size of a large room. He had shrunk! Olivia knew he was the same dragon because he had the same red and green swirls.

The dragon asked, “What are you doing?” It was a very loud question because this was a very big dragon.

Olivia fell to the ground, shaking in fear, but then something amazing happened.

The dragon lasered Olivia’s eyes and Olivia could see better than ever before!

The dragon said, “Can’t we be friends?”

“Yes,” said Olivia. “I would like that very much.”

They decided to pack up the cave, including the treasure, and move to Niceland where they could live together as BFFs. But, when they arrived, they couldn’t find a house! Well, they found a perfect house, but it was too small for the dragon. He just couldn’t shrink enough. What a terrible problem.

They decided to move back to the cave. They would build a house next to it and all would be well. They returned to the cave. But uh-oh! There was another big problem. People had built houses all the way up to the cave. There was no where to put a new house.

They were so sad.

“Let’s buy a new cave,” said the dragon.

“That’s a good idea,” said Olivia.

They searched and searched for the perfect cave. It took a very long time. Finally, when they had almost given up hope, they found it. A huge, empty, perfect cave. They moved in, settling all their stuff, including the diamond and rubies and gold. They were so happy. And then the dragon laid eggs, which made them even happier. But the dragon was a male dragon. This felt like a miracle, one he just couldn’t understand.

Then Olivia explained, “Where I come from, there aren’t boys and girls. We’re all the same. When I’m around, anyone can have a baby.”

The End.
