The Dragon and the Cyclops

The dragon guarded his cave. Tyson, the cyclops, watched. He knew this dragon. It was Pelias. He knew that Pelias guarded Colossus, the ant. His tracking device had led him here.

Tyson had to save Colossus because he was his little, adopted brother. He would protect him at any cost. Tyson had no idea why Pelias would antnap his brother. It didn’t really matter. All that mattered was saving him.

Pelias was huge and threatening. Tyson did not like being around creatures who were so much bigger than he was. Pelias was 100 feet tall and Tyson was only 30. Pelias was charcoal black with spikes down his back. He was very fat. Tyson thought he looked super squishy, his skin all soft and smooth. He did have those spikes, but they were blunt. Not particularly scary.

Pelias was stinky. He smelled like decaying meat. It was disgusting. The dragon was quiet right now.

Suddenly, he stomped into the cave. A few minutes later, he came out. It looked as if he was holding something in his claw. Tyson thought it might be Colossus.

The dragon picked up a banana peel with whipped ice cream. “Eat it,” he bellowed, and shoved it at whatever was in his claw. It had to be Tyson’s brother. “I want you to grow fat! Then I can eat you at the Dragon Festival!”

Tyson did not like the sound of that at all! He also didn’t like seeing his poor brother be forced to eat that overly sweet concoction! In his world, you would only eat that if you wanted to get rid of hiccups!

Tyson decided to wait till the dragon fell asleep to save Colossus. He waited and waited. Finally, the dragon crawled into the cave and fell asleep.

When the dragon began to snore, Tyson went into action. He ran as quietly as possible to the cave, but the dragon’s huge body blocked the entrance. Tyson squeezed through a small opening. The cave was very dark. Tyson could not see with his one eye. He stumbled around.

BONK!

“OOPS!”

He had a feeling he had just run into the dragon.

The dragon blew fire, lighting the cave. Smoke came out of his nose. It made a hissing noise.

Tyson worried about where Colossus was now.

“Colossus!” he cried.

The dragon flamed his fire at Tyson.

Tyson yelped and ran for his life. Oh no! What would happen to his brother? He checked his tracking device. It showed Colossus sneaking out the back. Woo-hoo! Colossus was saved. Now they both just had to find their way home.

The End.
