The dragon guarded his cave. A girl hid behind a rock and watched. Her name was Sam. She’d never met this dragon, but she had seen what he was guarding. It was a female dragon with her egg. She’d seen them enter the cave a while ago. She thought the female might be his girlfriend.
This dragon was ginormous, at least 45 feet all. Way taller than his girlfriend who couldn’t have been much more than 10 feet tall. He was dark blue and purple. The girlfriend was red and orange. Sam wondered what color the egg was. It had been hard to see since the girlfriend had been hugging it. The male dragon’s wingspan was ridiculous—like 100 feet wide. His wings almost covered the cave entrance. The dragon was covered in overlapping scales. Sam thought they looked very smooth though the edges might be sharp.
The dragon smelled disgusting, like rotten eggs. He was roaring. It was so loud it hurt Sam’s ears. It had to be at least ten times louder than a lion’s roar. Sam covered her ears with her hands.
All of a sudden the female dragon lumbered out of the cave with her egg. With a loud crack, the egg hatched. A small baby dragon crawled out. Immediately the two dragons began to feed it raw meat.
Yuck. Gross. That did not look yummy. Sam thought that raw meat had to taste like hairy legs. Now she could see the egg. It was blue and spiky. The baby dragon had a tail made out of blue fire.
Sam stepped out from her hiding place. “Hello,” she said. “I’ve been watching you from behind this rock. I would like to be your friend and to learn all about dragons.” The male dragon ROARED. Sam covered her ears. He didn’t look as if he wanted to be friends.
He charged at her. Sam ran.
But suddenly a magical fairy popped out from nowhere. “I shall cast a spell. You dragons shall be friendly towards this small human. You all shall be best friends forever!!” With a wave of her wand, she cast her spell and then poofed away.
And sure enough, Sam and the dragons were best friends forever!
The End.
