Bob, the Alien, and the Dragon

The dragon guarded his cave.  Bob, the alien, watched.  Bob knew that the dragon guarded treasure!  Bob really wanted that treasure. Bob was determined to be the richest alien in the galaxy.

The dragon was pretty chubby but not as fat as most dragons Bob had seen. Bob prided himself on his very thin and tube-like body. He would never want to be as chubby as dragon. Unlike Bob, who was dark purple, the dragon was bright green. The dragon had a very long tail, and strange plate-shaped spikes that went down his back.  He was a three-footed dragon. Bob had seen the dragon lose his leg in a terrible fight with a fairy two years ago. Bob remembered how hard the dragon scales were and at the same time, how slimy it felt when he touched the dragon.  Bob lifted his head and sniffed with all thirty of his noses. Boy, did that dragon smell great! He smelled just like human baby dirty diapers. Bob loved that smell. The dragon was screaming a song. Bob had thirty-two ears, and his ears loved the sound. He wished he could have a recording to play through his headphones.

Bob was sure the dragon hadn’t seen him yet. In addition to the screaming, Bob’s sharp ears could also pick up sniffing coming from the cave. He knew that sniff. It came from his unicorn, Mr. Rainbow, who had been unicorn napped by the dragon. In between screams, the dragon munched on fifty-two bloody cows. Ew! Gross. Bob hated raw meat. He thought it tasted like barf.

With the dragon preoccupied by his cows, Bob jumped out of his hiding spot and snuck past him into the cave. It took his one thousand eyes a few seconds to adjust to the dark, but when they did he saw that the cave overflowed with gold coins. He didn’t like seeing all of those coins. Even though he dreamed of riches, this was too much for him.

Bob looked for Mr. Rainbow and found him in the back of the cave.

“Hey,” he cried. “What happened?”

Mr. Rainbow said, “It’s been okay.  I’ve been treated fine.”

Bob said, “OK, now help me gather the gold and let’s get out of here.”

Mr. Rainbow said, “No! I’m the dragon’s partner now.”

Bob cried, “I’m going to have to kill you!”

Mr. Rainbow said, “I guess we’ll have to fight.”

Bob started to slap the unicorn with his one hand. Mr. Rainbow kicked him then head butted him out of the cave.  Bob flew through the air and past the chubby dragon. Bob landed on the edge of a cliff and bounced over the side.  He grabbed a rock just in time and hung on, dangling over a deep canyon.

The “Cliffhanger” End.
