The dragon guarded his cave. Billy-Bob-Joe, the unidraffin, watched. She wondered what the dragon guarded.
The dragon was enormous, as big as a house. He was much bigger than Billy-Bob-Joe because she was only four feet tall. He was a reddish-orange just like Billy-Bob-Joe’s favorite bridge: the Golden Gate.
She was very curious about what it would feel like to touch him. She snuck around to his back and quickly ran her hoof over his scales. WOW! He was so rough, he felt like a rock! She thought the dragon had a hilarious tail. It looked just like a fluffy bunny tail. Whereas she had what she thought of as a cool griffin tail. It was like a tiny rock.
The dragon’s wings were huge and gold. Billy-Bob-Joe just had tiny, dark blue ones. The dragon’s hard scales were oval shaped. He had no horns, not even one. But Billy-Bob-Joe had a beautiful teal unicorn horn!
The dragon didn’t have scales on his belly. Instead his skin was smooth and shiny. Billy-Bob-Joe thought it would feel gel-like, like a snake’s skin. She wondered if that skin helped protect him from fire.
The dragon stank of pizza –yuck –way too cheesy! She preferred the smell of garbage –lots of perfumy garbage.
The dragon was snoring. He was asleep. His snores sounded like someone playing a tuba. His snores were the only noise she heard. There was dead silence coming from the cave.
Billy-Bob-Joe snacked on some baby tomatoes she had found in the nearby garbage. She didn’t love cheese, but she did love tomatoes, especially almost rotten tomatoes. They were so much stronger in taste than new ones- more sour and more sweet!
Since the dragon was asleep, Billy-Bob-Joe tiptoed into the cave. It was mostly dark, but glowed around the edges with lava and fire. There was a river of fire running through the cave. She also saw icicles coming off the ceiling. And singe marks.
Hmmm. This looked suspicious. She had a feeling the dragon could control at least three elements, that he could blow fire, water, and ice.
Billy-Bob-Joe took to the air. She flew farther into the cave. It was at least three houses big. As she flew under the icicles she saw something confusing. She saw ten big eggs. Whose were the eggs? Also there was a giant pile of jewels. But that didn’t interest her at all. What mattered was the heap of eggs.
Did male dragons lay eggs or was a female dragon hiding in the cave? Or was there another reason for the eggs being here? Billy-Bob-Joe approached the eggs. As she neared she smelled a terrible stench and then she saw why! It was the horrible pizza! There were pizzas surrounding the eggs. Ick! Since she was so close to the eggs, she now saw that they were light blue with black spots. She tried to get an even closer look.
Suddenly there was a loud clap and something fell, hitting her on the head. The last thing she remembered was falling!
***
Slowly she woke up. Two giant dragons were staring intently at her.
“What is going on? Where am I?” asked Billy-Bob-Joe.
The male dragon roared, “Who are you?”
Billy Bob-Joe yelled back, “I’m Billy-Bob-Joe!”
Just then Billy Bob-Joe saw the pile of eggs and they were hatching!
The dragons rushed to their eggs. Also a mysterious unidraffin and a young man also rushed to the eggs.
She asked, “Who are you?”
The unidraffin, who was a male, said, “My name is Joe-Bob-Billy.”
“I’m Charlie Weasley,” said the man.
The babies hatched! They were little balls of red.
The male dragon asked, ”Want pizza?”
Everyone except Billy-Bob-Joe raised their talons, hoofs, and hands. And it turned out that the daddy dragon had another special gift. He could magically create pizza. It popped in his hands.
Everyone ate, except Billy-Bob-Joe, and they had a fantastic feast. It was quite a party. And they were friends for life!
The End.
