The dragon guarded his cave. Jessie watched. She was a teenager. She had never seen this dragon before. She had only ever seen the godly dragon. What was the dragon guarding?
He was a very big and very brown dragon. He had huge wings and spikes that ran all the way down his back and tail. Jessie thought he would feel rough. He had scales all over. He smelled like poo! She liked that smell. It reminded her of her family farm. The dragon breathed heavily–it was so loud.
Suddenly a boy came into view. He was younger than Jessie. She had never seen him before. He was eating an ice cream sundae. Yuck! Jessie did not like chocolate because it was too bitter.
The dragon saw the boy. The dragon chased the boy!
Aha! thought Jessie. I can sneak into the cave. So she did.
But immediately the dragon returned and plopped down in front of cave. Now Jessie was trapped. She decided to explore the cave. It was lit by torches. The first thing she noticed was a big pile of rocks. Hmm. That did not look worthy of being guarded. She began to climb the boulders.
But one rock broke loose and fell with a large crash.
Uh-oh!
The dragon stomped inside. When he saw her, he breathed fire. It was blue!
Uh-oh.
She jumped off the rocks and ran around them to hide. On the other side there were multiple tunnels.
She ran through the one on the far right. It led to another large room.
There she found so many people. They were tied together, and she recognized all of them. They were famous–each and every one. They screamed at the top of their lungs. There was something wrong with them.
They scared Jessie. She ran to another tunnel. There she found four baby dragons.
But almost immediately, she realized that the dragons were holograms–not real! And a steel door slammed down. Uh-oh! She had a feeling she was in the middle of a video game.
A clock appeared, and it was counting down. She began to play and play.
Hooray! She won.
The steel door disappeared, and she ran through. She found a large pile of gems. Woo hoo! A prize. She began to stuff her pockets and her backpack with gems.
Suddenly the dragon appeared.
Oh! She needed an escape route. She searched and found a glass window. She tried to open it, but it wouldn’t budge. So, being a black belt in Karate, she kicked the window and broke it. She climbed out with the stack of gems.
The dragon tried to follow but she saw over her shoulder that he was stuck. She sprinted away, but suddenly the dragon appeared. He must have left the cave from the front entrance.
He yelled, “you have stolen my treasure. But I will let you go this time. Next time will be different.”
She ran all the way home feeling very grateful.
