The Dragon and Tinkerbell

The dragon guarded her cave. Tinkerbell, the fairy watched. Tinkerbell knew the dragon. It was Emily. Tinkerbell had once been very good friends with Emily, but now the dragon had destroyed her family. That made her very sad.

Tinkerbell knew that Emily guarded a huge pile of treasure. She was determined to steal it. It was the least she could do to get even with Emily. The dragon was huge– as big as a long bus–at least sixty-five times as big as she was. Emily was neon orange. Tinkerbell had never really liked Emily’s hue. The dragon’s wings were huge and thick and also orange–not pretty and delicate like Tinkerbell’s.

Emily’s scales were hard and rough. Tinkerbell had scraped herself once by touching Emily. But the most scary thing about Emily was all of her spikes. They were bigger than Tinkerbell and as sharp as knives. They were terribly dangerous.

Emily smelled like smoke mixed with rotten fish bones. Eww! Gross. Tinkerbell had never liked Emily’s smell, but back when they were friends, she had pretended that Emily didn’t stink.

Suddenly, Emily blew fire! It was so loud it hurt Tinkerbell’s ears. Uh oh! The dragon knew she was here. Tinkerbell flew behind a large rock.

“Hey,” whispered someone from behind.

Tinkerbell knew that voice! But how could it be? It was Charles! Her brother! And he was eating ice cream! She loved ice cream. It tasted like candy! But that didn’t matter now! She threw herself at her brother and hugged him tight.

“I thought you were dead!”

“What do you mean? Why did you think I was dead?”

“Emily destroyed our family.”

“Oh no! I wasn’t home. I was at an ice cream convention. We must take our revenge.”

“Yes,” said Tinkerbell. “I am going to steal her treasure.”

“No,” Charles whispered. “We are going to destroy her and then take her treasure.”

Tinkerbell and Charles used their fairy magic to confuse Emily. Then, they led her to a volcano. They blew fairy dust and… poof! The dragon fell into the volcano. There was a huge explosion and two dragons rose out of the volcano!

“Watch out!” Emily cried. “It’s my evil cousin. He destroyed your family!”

“Oh no!” Tinkerbell cried. “I thought you destroyed my family. I’m so sorry for thinking such a terrible thing.”

“I will fight my cousin on your behalf,” said Emily. She lunged for her cousin. Their battle was fierce. It looked as if the cousin would win.

“We must help,” said Tinkerbell.

She and her brother created a huge ball of water. They threw it at the evil cousin. He flew back into the volcano. It began to rumble. All of a sudden, it exploded. Tinkerbell flew back– far, far away. She landed hard. When she opened her eyes, she saw Charles and Emily beside her. The evil cousin was nowhere to be found.

“I think the evil cousin died!” said Tinkerbell.

“I don’t know,” said Emily. “He’s pretty hard to kill.”

“Let’s go to the fairy village and have a feast. We will tell everyone that you are not a villain.”

They had a grand feast and were hopeful that they would never see the cousin again.

The End.
