The dragon guarded their cave. Steph Curry watched. Steph wondered what the dragon guarded.
The dragon was huge–half the size of a basketball gym. They were dark red with giant fangs and their scales were neon green.
Steph didn’t want to touch those scales. Not only did they look rough. They also looked sharp. He didn’t want to hurt his precious hands before the final playoff game.
The dragon smelled disgusting, like rotten fish. Steph plugged his nose. The dragon roared so loudly it was like a plane taking off. They had just started roaring which worried Steph. He hid behind a very tall rock, but could the dragon have smelled him? High pitched squeaks and weird flutter sounds came from inside the cave. What hid there?
Just then, the dragon stopped roaring and flung a rotten fish into their mouth. Oooo. Gross. Steph was quite sure he would lose his stomach if he ate rotten fish.
Steph couldn’t resist finding out what was in the cave, but he refused to be hurt in the process. He decided to wait for the dragon to fall asleep. Meanwhile, he ordered a sword off Ebay and paid for immediate delivery. He would kill the dragon in their sleep.
Everything went to plan. The sword arrived. The dragon fell asleep. Steph crept near, sword extended. But he just couldn’t do it. He couldn’t kill a sleeping dragon. So, he snuck past them and into the cave.
The cave was pitch black. He fumbled for his phone’s flashlight. The squeaks and flutters were so much louder now. He turned on the light. Uh-oh! What had to be a million bats streamed toward him. He jumped. He dodged. He twirled. He used his sword like a baseball bat. As the bats flew out of the cave, he ran deeper into the darkness.
Suddenly he tripped, which didn’t happen often for Steph. He searched with his light and found a jewel-encrusted crown. Definitely the culprit. But that wasn’t all he found. Because the cave was filled to the brim with shiny treasure. Steph picked up the crown. As he did, his back grew hot. Huh He looked over his shoulder. Something loomed. A pair of eyes stared back at him. And fire came from a dark red nose. Wait a second. It looked like the dragon who guarded the cave but…
It was so much smaller.
There were two dragons!
Suddenly, Steph heard a familiar shout. It was Draymond Green, sprinting as fast as Steph had ever seen him run. The big dragon lumbered after him.
“Run, Steph, run,” yelled Draymond.
They ran.
The sword clattered behind them. Until…
The big dragon picked it up. “I will eat you,” shouted the dragon.
Dun. Dun. Dun! To be continued!
